2018 vendor/concession contracts were mailed on February 2 and we are now taking applications for open spaces. Contracts are due back March 15 to retain your space – and we will fill open spaces shortly after that date. For more information, visit the “Vendors” tab.

NOTICE OF VACANCY – FAIR BOARD DIRECTOR

The Lorain County Agricultural Society is seeking candidates to fill the position
of Fair Board Director for a one-year term ending November 13, 2018. Due to Constitutional restrictions, candidates can only be considered residing in the original townships of Amherst, Avon, Black River, Brownhelm, Carlisle, Columbia, Eaton, Elyria, Grafton, Penfield, Ridgeville, and Sheffield. Interested candidates must send a letter of interest stating the township they reside in and a resume including phone number to: Executive Board Committee, Lorain County Fair, 23000 Fairgrounds Road, Wellington, OH 44090. All letters of interest must be received no later than 3:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2018. The candidate selected will have to submit to and pass a BCI&I and FBI criminal background check.

FAIR BOARD OFFICERS FOR 2018 ELECTED

The Fair Board Officers for 2018 were elected at the Annual Meeting of the Lorain County Agricultural Society held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. The following Directors have been elected to the Executive Committee for next year:

• Ron Pickworth – President
• Marie Waite – Vice-President
• Brian Twining – Immediate Past President
• Dan Linden – Executive Committee; term expires 2018
• Joe Buchs – Executive Committee; term expires 2019
• Chris Jordan – Executive Committee; term expires 2020

ANNUAL MEETING – November 14, 2017

The Annual Meeting of the Lorain County Agricultural Society will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at the Fair Board Office. All members of the Society are invited to attend. Our monthly Fair Board meeting will begin at 7:30 pm with the Annual Meeting starting at 8:00 pm.

The newly elected Directors will be sworn in, election of officers will be held, pass and ticket prices will be set for the 2018 fair, and a proposed amendment to the Constitution will be voted on. This proposed amendment to Article II, Section I, will increase the number of residents from any one Original Township that can serve on the Board of Directors at the same time from two to three.
