Taking applications for Parking Attendants and Traffic Control for the 2012 Lorain County Fair on Tuesday, July 31, from 4pm – 7pm at the Lorain County Fairgrounds under the pavillion behind the grandstands. Applicants must be 17 years and older. There will be two shifts: Days – 7:30am to 3:00pm; Nights – 2:30pm to 10pm for the whole week of the Fair, Aug 20 – 26. We are happy to announce Brantley Gilbert as our Tuesday, August 21, entertainment! He will be performing at 7:30 – tickets are $27.00 each and are available online and at the fair office.
2012 FREE ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE NOW ONLINE
The 2012 free entertainment schedule has been uploaded to our website. Check out our exciting acts for this year with many returning favorites and some new acts, including Bobby Maverick (illusionist/magician) and a Journey tribute band. We will also have, again this year, the Singing Showdown, Cornhole Tournament, and Sr. Citizen King & Queen Contest.
2012 SHOW TICKETS ON SALE MAY 21
The grandstand entertainment tickets go on sale Monday, May 21, at 9:00 am online and at the box office. Phone, mail, and fax orders start on Tuesday, May 22. Please visit the entertainment page for details and to order tickets online.

2012 CAMPING AND DEMO DERBY RULES UPLOADED
The rules for 2012 camping and demo derby have been uploaded and are now available on the website. The camping applications will not be available until May to download.
LAWN MOWER RACES – NEW THIS YEAR!!
We will be having lawn mower races at the fair this year on Sunday, August 26, at 12:30 pm. More information will follow soon.
OFMA Convention Awards
The Lorain County Fair Board received two awards in the area of communication at the Ohio Fair Managers Convention Awards Breakfast in Columbus held January 8, 2012. They received first place for their promotional brochure and first place for the television ad that ran on the local network. Charisse Nikel, Fair Secretary, and Tim Buchs, Fair Board Director, accepted the awards on behalf of the Fair Board.
The Fair Board was presented a certificate of recognition for the completion of an outstanding 2011 fair season. Rick Ternes, Fair Board President, accepted the certificate.
Fair Board Director Tom Hines also was recognized as “Outstanding Fair Supporter” from District 5. Former Fair Board Director Gordon Greene was inducted into the Ohio Fairs Hall of Fame for his 45 years of service with the Lorain County Fair as well as his 18 years as District 5 Director of the Ohio Fair Managers Association, just a few of his accomplishments in an extensive resume of community service.

Gift cards are here!!! Looking for a Christmas gift or stocking stuffer? We now have gift cards which can be used to purchase entertainment tickets, season or membership tickets, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and more – they are reedemable at the Secretary’s office or grandstand ticket booth. Pick up your gift cards (minimum denomination of $10) at the Secretary’s office, which is open 9am – 3pm, M-F. Season and Membership tickets (7 admissions for $20) are also in – those make a great stocking stuffer too!
