BID PROPOSALS BEING ACCEPTED FOR BUILDING 16 (CAFETERIA)
Lorain County Fair is accepting bids for our Building 16 (formerly known as Grange Cafeteria and currently known as Sterk’s Cafeteria) to operate out of during fair week and/or catering events off season. More information is in the bid letter below. Deadline for proposals is March 3, 2014.
HELP WANTED – JUNIOR FAIR COORDINATOR
The Lorain County Agricultural Society is seeking a Junior Fair Coordinator. Part-time (20 hrs/wk), seasonal (Feb-Sept). The successful candidate must be personable and work well with adults, teenagers, and children of all ages. The candidate must be conscientious, have good leadership skills, and be able to meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher are required. Knowledge of 4-H/Junior Fair is a plus. A criminal background check is required. Interested candidates should send letter of intent and resume to 23000 Fairgrounds Road, Wellington, OH 44090 or by email to [email protected]. Applications due by January 3, 2014. 2014 OFFICERS ELECTED AND ADMISSION PRICES SET
The Fair Board Officers for 2014 were elected at the Annual Meeting of the Lorain County Agricultural Society, held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. The following Directors have been elected to the Executive Committee for next year:
• Kim Meyers – President
• Chris Jordan – Vice-President
• Rick Ternes – Immediate Past President
• Don Crawford – Executive Committee; term expires 2014
• Marie Waite – Executive Committee; term expires 2015
• Chris Zurcher – Executive Committee; term expires 2016
The 2014 fair will be held August 18 – 24. Admission prices were set at $5.00 for gate admission and $25.00 for a membership or season pass. Membership and season passes will be on sale from December 1, 2013, through August 17, 2014, at the Secretary’s office on the fairgrounds. Children 8 and under will be free at the gate; senior citizens 65 and older and Veteran’s and Military Personnel with ID are free on Thursday, August 21.

TICKETS NOW OUT IN TICKET BOOTH
Show tickets have now moved out to the ticket booth behind the grandstands – hours are 10 am to 6 pm on Sunday, August 18, and 10 am to 8:30 pm during fair week. We do not accept checks for show tickets after August 16.
